Don't we all have extra sneakers in our closets we would like to donate
rather than throw away?
In the United States, at least 200 million pairs of shoes and sneakers end up in landfills each year. Shoes in landfills can take 30 to 40 years to decompose. GotSneakers.com reports that 90% of all footwear received is actually reusable and recirculated to secondhand markets so people can access quality, pre-owned footwear at affordable prices. All heavily used and damaged footwear is recycled into products such as rubber mulch for under playground equipment.
We have a box at our cat enclosure at Family Farm and Home, on Telegraph in Monroe, where sneakers can be dropped off.
Please, paired sneakers only.

We will also gladly accept sneakers at any of our adoption events at PetSmart.

Pictured above are shoes collected at our PetSmart adoption event on February 15th.
43 pairs of sneakers were packed into the prepaid bags provided by Gotsneakers.com.
